Cathy and Augustine are both shamanic practitioners with their own private practice in Montreal. They first met 30 years ago, while attending the 3-yr program offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) taught at that time by Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman. They have taken all of the workshops given by the FSS.
In the United States, they also attended the 2-yr teaching program given by Sandra Ingerman and her workshops "Soul Retrieval " and "Medicine for the Earth". In Europe, they participated in the 4-yr program taught by Claude and Noelle Poncelet as well as their workshops in Quebec. They also worked with Betsy Bergstrom in Philadelphia on depossession methods and with other shamanic teachers from different countries around the world. Since 2006, Cathy and Augustine have been teaching bilingual in-depth shamanic workshops in Quebec and both feel privileged to have shared their friendship and the opportunities encountered on their shamanic path.
Cathy Hiess has sponsored the workshops for the FSS given in Montreal during the past 22 years. Now that she has retired sponsoring, she is still active in the shamanic community and in the drumming circle she started in 1996. She was trained as a registered nurse. She is married, the mother of two sons and grand-mother of five.
Augustine Rasquin is a retired pediatrician, the mother of three daughters and grandmother of six.
Cathy and Augustine retired in 2023. They are pleased to announce that Nadia Haridi, Heydi Blanco, Myriam Robillard and Luc Myre are the new teachers in the new life cycle of Copperlight shamanic circle.
Nadia was born in Egypt with a thirst for learning and applying ancient wisdom teachings that empower every day life.
Her love and respect for one of the oldest spiritual traditions on earth, Shamanism, which has enabled people to survive and thrive for thousands of years, has been her fascination since adolescence. This fascination led her to explore and, eventually, to study with her mentors Sandra Ingerman, Cathy Hiess and Augustine Rasquin. She has also had the honour of being a student of Claude et Noelle Poncelet and Tito LaRosa, with whom she had the great fortune to experience transformational shamanic practices from various traditions.
Nadia is an executive consultant who assists leaders of global organizations to maximize their leadership potential in ways that are integral, relevant and impactful.
Nadia is a lover of life, nature and the outdoors, a proud mother of two wonderful adults, and an active grandmother of three amazing and loving grandchildren.
Heydi de Los Angeles Blanco born in Managua, Nicaragua comes from the lineage of natives in Central America. Her desire to reconnect to the land of her ancestors brought her to discover the sacred arts of shamanism.
Being guided by her spiritual teachers and wonderful mentors Cathy Hiess, Augustine Rasquin and Betsy Bergstrom, her deepest desire is to assist in the preservation of these ancient and spiritual wisdoms in order to help others re-establish lost connections to their original and true essence.
She facilitates this work through her shamanic practice bringing with her the knowledge she has acquired as a facilitator of Family Constellations and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
Heydi also holds in her heart a wonderful husband and three children.
My shamanic practice began with Michael Harner's Foundation for the Shamanic Studies workshops and continued with the teachings and wisdom of my mentors Cathy Hiess and Augustine Rasquin.
Curious, I like to explore the worlds that surround me. Shamanism nourishes my communion with the Living and my communication with the Worlds: nature and its kingdoms, the forest, the horses, the animals, the cosmos and music. Here and there I weave subtle links between science and spiritual traditions, between life and death, the visible and the invisible.
In my life history, I have navigated in different fields: science, teaching, management and agriculture but also life at sea, on land and in the air. And always, I continue to explore, understand, share and care.
French-speaking Quebec shamanic practitioner for 10 years now. Curious about human evolution in all its possibilities and limits, I am happy to share my knowledge and teachings in the respect and impeccability of my limits.
Lover of animals and nature, father of two adult children, the beginning of my journey with the spirits dates from childhood. Shamanic practice is for me an indispensable tool in several facets of life towards the desire for an evolutionary knowledge in connection with personal development.

Amoureux des animaux et de la nature, père de deux enfants devenus adultes, le début de mon cheminement avec les esprits date de l’enfance.
